LATEST CASE DEVELOPMENTS

During the period 8th - 23rd October 2003 I visited Kos Island for the first time. The main purpose of my visit was to meet with the chief of police and the security police who I found to be very cooperative in my investigation into the disappearance of Ben.

During my 2 week stay I met with Mr.Papadakis on 3 separate occasions and also with retired security police officer Christos Bafonis. I feel this case can be resolved quite easily. The reason Ben's whereabouts remain a mystery is simply because nobody is actively looking to solve the case and that includes both British and Greek police authorities. In 2 days time 29th October Ben will become 14 years old. I believe under the right circumstances this child should be informed of what happened on that day in July 1991.

I have funded this investigation entirely out of my own pocket so far and would appeal for a sponsor to come forward and help close this case in the very near future.

Due to the on going investigation it is not possible to report in any greater detail at this stage of the enquiry.

In 1991 Ben then 21 months old together with his Grandparents moved from England to live on the Greek Island of Kos. On 24th July 1991 Ben disappeared from outside a farm house in the village of Iraklise which was being renovated by his Grandparents. Ben is now nearly 14 years old and has not been seen by his biological family since the day he disappeared. Ben's family are still highly distressed at not knowing what happened.
His mother Kerry writes:
"On the 24th July 1991 was the day that changed my life. My son who I loved and adored vanished without a trace. The past 12 years have been a living nightmare one that I will never wake up from until Ben is found.
Living a life I don't really want to live without him. He was my life and my soul and I would give anything to see him again, we as a family have devoted our lives to finding Ben and will continue to do so until that day arrives.
As the years have gone on it has become harder to generate the publicity that Ben's case needs in order to keep his investigation alive and in the public eye.
We need the general public to be aware that Ben is still missing and we need help to find him, as we cannot rely on the authorities both here and in Greece.
I as a normal everyday mother do my best to keep strong and focused for that day when someone tells me that my Ben has been found. I know in my heart that this day will come it is just a matter of when.
We are a good, loving, caring family who didn't deserve this pain inflicted on them.
We as a family need to know the truth about what happened and so does Ben."
